NW Hearts Charity is your local charity, supporting people across Greater Manchester. We are passionate about improving the lives of people who are living with, or at risk of, heart disease, and their families. We fund projects which change lives.
NW Hearts Charity is determined to reduce heart health inequalities by improving access to high quality cardiac services, facilities and expertise across the whole region for everyone.
In 2026 we launched the Greater Manchester ICD support group with ICD patients, specialist nurses, and Manchester hospitals helping to unite and support people living with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD).
The group supports and connects people with ICDs, offering a welcoming space to share experiences, build confidence, and access reliable information during the challenges of living with an ICD.
Family members and carers are encouraged to join meetings and connect with others who understand the challenges of supporting someone with a heart condition.
If you would like to attend future sessions or receive information about upcoming sessions, you can register here.
Anyone with an ICD, or anyone supporting someone with an ICD is welcome to come along.
